EXPERIENCE

Joanna has over 15 years of facilitation and training experience, with a particular focus in Adaptive Leadership, community organizing, LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer) education and training, anti-sexism and anti-violence education, white anti-racism education and organizing, storytelling, and organizational change.

For 7 years, she worked with Keshet toward the full inclusion & equality of LGBTQ people in Jewish life, including guiding Jewish institutions large and small through organizational change processes. Joanna worked and volunteered as a partner abuse and sexual violence prevention educator with The Network/La Red and BWR/YWCA of Central Massachusetts for 6 years.

Joanna has a dual Bachelors degree in Gender Studies and Middle East Studies from Antioch College.

About Joanna

Joanna has been living, working, and learning at the intersections of social justice, community organizing, spirituality, and transformative education for over a decade. Originally from San Diego, California, Joanna has made her personal and professional home in the Pacific Northwest, Ohio, Israel/Palestine, Western Europe, and, since 2008, Boston, MA. Joanna is a queer white Jewish femme of mixed Sephardi/Ashkenazi heritage, from an interfaith (Jewish, Christian, Muslim, and atheist) family.
